It ems that weiqi is far away from us, but I think we Chine people should know something about weiqi.

It is universally acknowledged that weiqi is originated from ancient China.
And it was recorded in historical book that "Yao created weiqi to teach his son Danzhu."

As we all know the four ancient Chine arts to judge people's talent and cultivation are qin qi shu hua, and in which the qi refers to weiqi.
Since weiqi was created, it was gradully accepted and loved by people. And till South and North Dynasty weiqi is widely accepted by the mass also the class. It reaches cond summit during Tang Dynasty. But after the Opium War weiqi was ignored by people and fortunately it was picked up again.
Now weiqi are popular in China, Japan and Korea also the levels of weiqi in the three countries are highest.
Weiqi is the treasure of Chine culture, it contains the meaning of the world. Duiyi is just like competition in our life: the black and white pieces contain the n of equal. The players need wisdom to fight on the board, broad mind to think, to balance the gain and loss, perverance to fight for the 1/4 piece.
