Jingwai Mingde, a primary school in Xuanwei, Yunnan province, with more than 1,000 teachers and students, has achieved food lf-sufficiency over 15 years by offering farming for students. Each class is allocated a piece of land to plant asonal vegetables or rai livestock, which become ingredients for their daily meals.
