This standard has been prepared by CEN/TC 185 ‘Threaded and non-threaded mechanical fasteners and accessories’ (Secretariat: Germany).
The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Mechanische Verbin-dunglemente (Fasteners Standards Committee), Technical Committee FMV-AA 3.7 Stahlbauverschrau-bungen .
Previously bolts and nuts were ordered and supplied as parate products, but are now to be ordered as asmblies. As a conquence, suppliers shall now be responsible for the suitability of such asmblies for the intended u. Further information is given in the introduction of this European standard.
Amendments
This standard differs from DIN 6914, October 1989 edition, and DIN 6915, December 1999 edition, as fol-lows:
a) Bolts
– A bolt is no longer a parate product, but forms part of an asmbly.– References have been updated.
– The values of d w min have been amended.– k q is now referred to as k w .
