On the Psychological Caus of College Students’ “Mobile Phone Dependence”

Abstract: “Mobile phone dependence” is widely distributed in various industries, groups at all levels and age groups, especially college students. Taking college students as the object, combined with the performance and harm of “mobile phone dependence”, this paper summarizes the caus of College Students’ mobile phone dependence from the perspective of psychology, and formulates the intervention strategies of College Students’ mobile phone dependence from five angles, in order to alleviate the adver effects of “mobile phone dependence” and promote the all-round and healthy development of college students.

W ith the rapid development and comprehensive sweep of mobile Internet, mobile phone has become an indispensable communication and entertainment tool, and has penetrated into the life and study of c
ollege students with a high-profile attitude of all-round and all-round time domain. College students have gradually become “network generation” and “thumb family”. According to the report of China’s Ministry of industry and information technology, by the end of May 2020, the total number of mobile phone urs in China has reached 1.592 billion. In such a large ur group, college students account for nearly one third. Groups such as “bow head group” and “mobile phone control” continue to grow. Surfing the Internet and using the Internet have become their normal life and basic needs. Many people even suffer from “mobile phone dependence”, which has a rious adver impact on their physical and mental health. Therefore, It is necessary to study the psychological caus and intervention strategies of College Students’ mobile phone dependence, so as to help college students get rid of the shackles of mobile phones and achieve sustainable and healthy development.
1. Manifestation and Harm of “Mobile Phone Dependence” of College Students

The harm of “mobile phone dependence” of college students is mainly reflected in the impact on students’ physical and mental health. On the one hand, students maintain fixed posture or mechanical action for a long time becau they are addicted to online shopping, microblog, video and games, which will lead to physical fatigue, shoulder and neck stiffness, arm muscle fatigue, and even carpal tunnel syndrome, tenosynovitis and other dias, Some students inevitably have probl
ems such as memory loss, inattention, slow thinking, palpitation and dizziness due to excessive u of mobile phones. In addition, mobile phones cau great eye irritation, which is very easy to cau cataract, macular eye dia and other dias; On the other hand, students’ misu of mobile phones has gradually deviated from the tool standard, and students have become “slaves of mobile phones”. They are ud to recording their daily life through mobile phones, shielding their real expression and body language, weakening normal face-to-face communication opportunities, ignoring the communication of true feelings between individuals, and riously affecting students’ normal interpersonal relations; In addition, over reliance on mobile phones makes students unable to focus on their studies, riously affects the normal teaching order, weakens college students’ scientific morality and values, and even leads to adver mental dias such as depression and anxiety [1].
2. Psychological Caus of “Mobile Phone Dependence” of College Students
(1) Alienation of personality traits
Rearch shows that personality characteristics, as an individual potential factor, have a great correlation with the formation of “mobile phone dependence”.

In addition, the impact of academic, emotional, employment and other pressures will also lead to adver emotions such as anxiety and helplessness among college students, which have to be eliminated by mobile phones.
(2) Driven by multiple demands
From the perspective of College Students’ individual psychology, “mobile phone dependence” is driven by students’ multiple psychological needs: first, the psychology of eking knowledge. The im
mediacy, universality, reproducibility and lectivity of massive information on the mobile Internet greatly attract college students in their mental growth period, resulting in their inparable love for mobile phones; Second, entertainment psychology. The mobile phone’s smooth mobile Internet and rich applications meet the entertainment psychology of college students such as audio-visual, game and interaction; Third, social psychology. Many studies show that the higher the degree of loneliness of college students, the easier they are to rely on mobile phones. The indirect communication mode of mobile phone “person network person” realizes the extension of College Students’ social psychology in virtual space and provides a way for students to eliminate loneliness.
(3) Blind conformity
According to Ellis theory, the particularity of College Students’ age determines that they must solve the problem between lf-identity and role confusion, and mobile phone u has become an important way to pursue lf-identity. In order to integrate into the group, many students blindly follow the crowd and pursue the same brand of mobile phones, mobile games, mobile phone ringtones, Screen Wallpapers, etc. some students do not rely too much on mobile phones, but they have to u mobile phones too much becau of lack of asrtiveness and boredom. Some students even have a mentality of comparison and excessively pursue high-priced mobile phones regardless

At this stage, many college students are only children, with relatively lf-centered personality and weak ability to resist tbacks and difficulties. Once they are faced with life or academic pressure, they are very likely to have adver

In the face of this emotion, many college students will choo to transfer their emotions, fill the vacancy and relieve the pressure in a way they are more willing to accept, and mobile phones undoubtedly act as such a function. When real life is not going well, more and more students try to ek psychological comfort in the virtual world of mobile phone. In the long run, their dependence on mobile phone becomes more and more rious, forming “mobile phone dependence”.
(5) Lack of social support
Social support involves the support and help of multiple subjects such as family, friends and teachers at the spiritual and material levels. “Everyone is not an island”. They are eager for the recognition and support of others. Whether they encounter difficulties or are complacent, they look forward to being accompanied and sharing joys, sorrows and joys. However, when there is little social support, many students will choo to ek spiritual sustenance from other aspects in order to relieve their inner depression, and mobile phones have become the main substitute, which leads college students to go forever on the road of mobile phone dependence, and finally form “mobile phone dependence” [3].
