FUNCTION
Talking about the future
【设计意图】 通过课文谈论未来城市的话题引入将来时用法细节区分的思考。通过quiz学生自测及复习回顾一般将来时各种表达方式的用法区别。

T: What will the city of the future look like? No one knows for sure, and making predictions is a risky business. But one thing is certain – they are going to get bigger before they get smaller.
Q: Which ntence talks about
1. a certain future?

Ss: 1.Arrangements: “be going to do”

Step II Obrvation and conclusion
【设计意图】 学生通过小组合作的方式进行进一步学习,从而在其中进行观察和讨论,根据已有的知识回忆一般将来时并对基本知识进行归纳,从而为下一步的学习做了铺垫。
Q: 在英语中,用来表达将要发生的动作或事情有些什么表达方式?

We’ll go camping if it doesn’t rain tomorrow.

Conclusion ①“Will+动词原形”A.表示在将来某个时间要发生的动作或存在的状态,常与表示将来的时间状语连用。有时也可用来表示揣测。如:The predictions will come true if technology continues to develop. B.可表示说话者马上就要去做的事或将来经常发生的动作。C.表示物体或事物的固有属性或必然趋势。D.在条件状语从句中遵循“主将从现”原则。E.祈使句,and /or+S+will/won’t .F.will在条件状语从句的从句中出现,表意愿。

Conclusion② 清川澹如此“be going to +动词原形”表示打算在最近或将来要做的事;或表示根据已有的迹象推测很可能要发生的事情。

My train leaves at ten o’clock.
The department store opens at nine tomorrow morning.
Conclusion③一般现在时可以表示按计划或时刻要发生的事;只限于某些瞬间动词,如arrive, begin, come, finish, get, go, leave, meet, return, sail, spend, start等。

1.The plane is arriving soon.
2. Where are you going tomorrow.
3. We’re visiting friends tonight.
Conclusion④现在进行时表示将要发生的动作,一般与时间状语连用,限于表示位置转移的动词,如arrive, begin, come, stay, start, go, leave,visit等。

Conclusion⑤在由when,before,as soon as,until/till引导的时间状语从句和由if引导的条件状语从句中,常用一般现在时表示将来。

Conclusion⑥ be about to do: 表示即将发生的动作,be on the point of doing, 常与when连用。

Conclusion⑦ be to do: ①表示客观安排或计划好了的动作,已提上日程一般不再改动。②表说话人的意志,职责,义务,命令。
