Theme: A Few Simple Forms of English Poems
Teaching Duration: One period (40 minutes)
Analysis of learning material
  The reading text is poems, which involves the rhythm and rhyme. It also introduces a few simple forms of English poems, including nurry rhymes, list poem, cinquain poem, haiku poem, Tang poem, to inspire students’ passion for poem.
Analysis of learning condition
After a years English study at nior high school, students专制国家 have a command of some readi
ng skills. Words in the poems may not be difficult for students to understand, but students may have difficulties in understanding the forms of poems and the emotion in them. Students still need the teacher to lead them to analyze the pattern and put forward views to the poems. During the teaching process, teacher will build leaning and practicing platform step by step to promote students to appreciate poems.
Teaching objectives
By the end of this class, students will be able to
1.define what a poem is through his or her own understanding.
2.have a general understanding of a few simple forms (nurry rhymes, list poem, 鲁宾逊漂流记读书笔记cinquain poem, haiku poem, Tang poem) of English poems.
3.understand why we need poems (becau of passion, power, beauty, romance).

Characteristics
nurry rhymes
They have strong rhyme and a lot of repetition.
haiku poem
They are made up of 17 syllables, and give a picture and a special feeling.
list poem
They repeated phras and some rhyme, and easy to write.
cinquain poem
They are made up of 5 lines, and convey a strong picture, and easy to write.
Tang poem
Their translations have a free form.
Ss have a general understanding of a few simple forms of English poems.

Each group choo one form of poems to read and feel. Then the group leader of each group will come to the front and teach us the poem.
According to the characteristics of the poems, try to read poems and feel the rhythm.
