To tell The joint student- faculty Disciplinary Committee ,Mr. Trask and students what integrity and courage is about; to remind them of what their institution's spirit and soul is about ;to show why Charlie's character is the stuff leaders should be made of;to delicate Mr. Charles Simms is excud from any further respon to this incident.
2.Speech strategy

showed his determination ,confidence and passion.In another way ,he controls his talking speed very well.when he wants strengthen his meaning ,he slows his talking speed " But not a snitch!" vice versa."And if you think you're preparing the minnows for manhood,you better think again." At last ,you can't deny Mr. Slade's behavior is very nature and his words are humorous,as if he's Charlie's father.All in all,it's a very successful speech.
