regret的用法总结篇2
1、表示“圆满”“愧疚”，是及物动词，不要按汉语意思在其后连用介词about或for。如：
假如你如今就走，你会懊悔的。
误：If you go now, you will regret about [for] it.
正：If you go now, you will regret it.
2、表示很圆满地做某事，其后要接不定式；能这样用的不定式不多，主要是to say, to tell, to inform等，此时句子主语一般是第一人称，且regret通常用如今时。如：

3、表示懊悔或圆满做过某事，其后通常接动名词，且动名词可用一般式或完成式。如：
He regretted doing [having done] it.他懊悔做了此事。
I regret spending [having spent] so much money.我很懊悔花了这么多钱。

留意，若句中含有详细的过去时间状语，则以用动名词的一般式表示已发生的动作。如：
