Different social attitudes: The british are, in some ways, less conrvative than Americans - the drinking age is 18, not 21, homoxual civil unions are legal, and abortion hasnt been a rious political issue in years. Mixing religion and politics is extremely rare in the UK. On the other hand, there are stricter controls on some things - its much harder to get a driving licence, and the age requirement is higher than in m横扫一切牛鬼蛇神ost states, there are speed cameras everwhere, CCTV cameras in many public places (although they may or may not be working), and carrying weapons or other objects for "lf defence" is illegal (in particular, note that pepper spray is illegal).
Getting into a debate about the right to bear arms will be very time consuming, and may also lead people to think that youre a gun-nut before theyve got to know you properly.
Smoking in enclod public places is illegal - that includes pubs, the underground, train stations... more or less any non-residential building actually... (similar to New York, so not so much of a cultural di延吉旅游攻略fference there).
Early this morning, we took a flight to San Francisco. One of the things that impresd me most was the visit to the Intel muum.
Had no sooner arrived at the muum of strong science and breathed, threshold before tho incredible illusion, now all become a reality in my eyes, most especially, I saw "anatomy" internal computer, reminds people of multifarious, the winding river maze.
The computer that we normally e is always so convenient, which brings people many benefits, but who thought how complicated it is inside? Today I finally saw the hard-won computer. The main thing in the computer is the chip, which looks like a labyrinth with no end. Its hard to make a chip.
First, cut the chip plate at the bottom of the well, but at the bottom of the plate, but have to hard gold wire to build by laying bricks or stones becomes, in the process of making chips, making people have to keep the body clean, becau in the process of production, the chip can not be stained with a trace of dust inside. Otherwi, the previous efforts can be abandoned! The whole process must be careful, and every part needs to be carefully lected and meticulous. It is conceivable that a computer is made up of many "meticulous".
Its hard to make a computer, but the worlds elite have honed it in this difficult situation. As long as you work hard, you can create your own life and the world. Today I am proud of mankind, tomorrow man is proud of me.
Recently watching American TV Dramas has become more and more popular with youth in our country. There are various kinds of reasons. Generally speaking, TV Dramas are suitable for the psychology of youth. The network technology will be developed as well at the same time. What’s more, it can make our spoken English well. Every coin has two sides, but it shows off a humanism, and spreads bad influences such as violence, etc.
I think the positive influences are more important than negative ones.
First of all, a number of American TV Dramas express duty, family, freedom, justice and love concept. It’s uful to develop youth’s recessive education. Only in this way will TV Dramas play a positive part and make up for shortcomings in political education. Next, it can broaden our eyes and knowledge and make us know what is different from home and abroad. With this method, we can know the western society. We’ll be affected by different culture ambience and ideology concept. Under the background of the whole world, knowing the cultures of western countries can promote each country’s communications well. In addition, In this process, TV Dramas play a role of bridge. Then, it will develop independent personality. America uphold particular concept and suggest their educational productions. Youth is the most energetic generation, encourages people show off personality and dares to break the outmoded conventions. It’s the prerequisite of innovation.
Finally, TV Dramas also help you face reality and surmount ideality. Nowadays, some youth always depend on others, such as their parents or friends. They also have idealism and is extremely conceited or inferiority. They often don’t find themlves in society, due to the influences of life education environment.
By this we can make a conclusion. No matter how hard it will be, we should always be free and try our best to conquer the enemy, just like the actors in the film. Another thing we have to remember is the great development of China. TV Dramas’ productions suggest the culture and psychological state of the country from some kinds of degree. It can promote our country’s economic development. Watching TV Dramas is a way to follow fashion. Therefore, everyone should work hard to make our country stronger and stronger. Through American TV Dramas, we should strengthen our duty and proud of our country. Let’s work together!

Disadvantages of studying abroad may affect ones life culturally and economically. We Chine will experience cultural shocks if we study abroad and live in another country. Some peers may not be able to adapt to a new environment of their studying and living, which may be very different from that of theirs. Life is beautiful, and it is hard. If one does not feel comfortable with the new culture of another country, he will not be happy about studying in that country.
In addition, studying abroad can cost students a great deal of living expens. Some Chine students are so academically successful that they receive scholarships in their studies. However, most peers who study abroad do not receive scholarships. Furthermore, they have to deal with many unexpected hardships by living away from their parents and homeland. Often time, they need to heavily depend on their parents overas monthly payments.
The ways of history are so intricate and the motivations of human actions so complex that it is always hazardous to attempt to reprent events covering a number of years, a multiplicity of persons, and distant localities as the expression of one intellectual or social movement; yet the historical process which culminated in the ascent of thomas jefferson to the presidency can be regarded as the outstanding example not only of the birth of a new way of life but of nationalism as a new way of life.
The american revolution reprents the link between the venteenth century, in which modern england became conscious of itlf, and the awakening of modern europe at the end of the eighteenth century. it may em strange that the march of history should have had to cross the atlantic ocean, but only in the north american colonies could a struggle for civic liberty lead also to the foundation of a new nation.
Here, in the popular rising against a "tyrannical" government, the fruits were more than the curing of a freer constitution. they included the growth of a nation born in liberty by the will of the people, not from the roots of common descent, a geographic entity, or the ambitions of king or dynasty.
With the american nation, for the first time, a nation was born, not in the dim past of history but before the eyes of the whole world.

For the student who wants to improve his english quickly and learn about american customs firsthand, there is often an opportunity to live with an american family. there may be some disadvantages in this arrangement; however, i believe there are far more advantages.
First of all, the disadvantages may include lack of privacy and little opportunity to be independent. they will lo the chance of living on their own. another drawback to living in an american home involves the possibility that the family may treat the student like a child. for eample, the parents may want to decide who his friends should be and where he should go during his leisure time.

The main content of American culture is the emphasize on individuals' value, the pursue of democracy and freedom, the promotion of deploitation and competition and the need of realistic and practicality. Its core is individualism:lf first, personal need first, pursue of individual benefit and enjoyment, emphasize on achieving individual value by lf-strive and lf-design.

The United States 酸奶的营养of America, also known as the United States, the U.S., the U.S.A., and America, is a country in North America that shares land borders with Canada and Mexico, and a a border with Russia. Extending from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean, the United States is a federal republic, with its capital in Washington, D.C.
The prent-day continental United States has been inhabited for at least 15,000 years by indigenous tribes.[1] After European exploration and ttlement in the 16th century, the English established their own colonies—and gained control of others that had been begun by other European nations—in the eastern portion of the continent in the 17th and early 18th centuries. On 4 July 1776, at war with Britain over fair governance, thirteen of the colonies declared their independence. In 1783, the war ended in British acceptance of the new nation. Since then, the country has more than quadrupled in size: it now consists of 50 states and one federal district; it also has numerous overas territories.

The United States has maintained a liberal democratic political system since it adopted its Articles of Confederation on 1 March 1781 and the Constitution, the Articles' replacement, on 17 September 1787. American military, economic, cultural, and political influence incread throughout the 20th century; with the collap of the Soviet Union at the end of the Cold War, the nation emerged as the world's sole remaining superpower.[2] Today, it plays a major role in world affairs.

Another difference is about what can be talked about in a conversation A Chine thinks nothing of being asked how much his coat cost while Americans think it impolite to ask such a question A Chine woman doesn"t care if she is asked about her age Politics, religions,as well as ines are often talked about among Chine But in the United States the kinds of subjects are usually avoided in conversation.
Since there are many other different social customs between Americans and Chine, the way that we behave and what we talk about requires our attention If we keep the in mind,we will do it better and understand each other better.

This Thursday is Thanksgiving Day. The writer O’Henry called it the one day that is purely American. Thanksgiving is not a religious holiday. But it has ritual meaning. Some Americans attend religious rvices on the day before Thanksgiving or on Thanksgiving morning. Others travel long distances to be with their families. They have a large dinner which is the main part of the celebration.
For many Americans, Thanksgiving is the only time when all members of the family gather. The holiday is a time of family reunion. Thanksgiving week is generally one of the busiest travel times of the year. However, experts say this year probably will be different. On September 11th, thousands of people died when terrorists hijacked airplanes that struck buildings in Washington D.C. and New York City. Many people now say they are worried about flying on a plane. Travel experts say almost 6 percent fewer people will make long trips this Thanksgiving compared with last year. Many Americans who usually visit family and friends by plane are driving shorter distances instead this week.
Some mental health experts say the attacks have frightened people. They say people feel safer and happier clo to home. More than any other holiday, Thanksgiving is a celebration of family and home. Many people say that this year they are especially thankful for their families and friends and the good things in their lives. On Thanksgiving, people enjoy a long day of cooking, eating and talking. The traditional meal almost always includes the turkey with a bread mixture cooked inside. Other traditional Thanksgiving food rved with turkey are sweet potatoes, cranberries and pumpkin pie. Stores are said to ll more food at Thanksgiving than at any other time of the year, and many people eat more food at Thanksgiving than at any other time of the year. Over the years, Americans have added new traditions to their Thanksgiving celebration. For example, a number off professional and university football games are played on Thanksgiving Day. Some of the games are broadcast on national television.
After a brief reunion with our American aunt, we soon embarked on a trip to the east of the United States. Our first stop was New York.
On July 21, we got up at 6:30 am and after more than half an hour's drive, we came to Wall Street. There was a bull in the street, and I took many photos with my parents. After that, we went to the Empire State Building and pasd through curity. Then, let's go through the winding corridor to the elevator, and soon, a delicate elevator will we carry on the 80 layer, through the 80th floor of pictures and words, I understand the process of the Empire State Building construction in the 1830 s, the U.S. government in 400 days time built the 102th floor of the Empire State Building, is a miracle. We're on the 86th floor, and the 86th floor is a sighteing layer that can get a full view of New York City. Then we went to the met and saw the Egyptian temple, the dunhuang murals, the longyan grottoes and so on
Then we followed the guide to the intrepid America and saw the American space agency NASA's space shuttle.
Finally, we went to times square, but I didn't buy anything I liked.
A history of long and effortless success can be a dreadful handicap, but,if properly handled,it may become a driving force. When the United States entered just such a glowing period after the end of the Second World War,it had a market eight times larger than any competitor ,giving its industries unparalleled economies of scale. Its scientists were the world's best, its workers the most skilled.American and Americans were prosperous beyongd the dreams of the Europeans and Asians who economeics the war had destroyed.
It was inevitable that this primacy should have narrowed as other countries grew richer.Just as inevitably, the retreat from predominace proved painful.By the mid 1980s Americans had found themlves at a losss over their fading industrial competitiveness. Some huge American industries, such as consumer electronics, hand shrunk or vanished in the face of foreign competitiong.By 1987 there was only one American television maker left,Zenith.(Now there is none :Zenith was bought by SouthKorea'sLGElectronics in July.)Foreign made cars and textiles were sweeeping into the domestic market.America's machine-tool industry was on the ropes. For a while it looked as though the makeing of miconductors, whidh America had invented and which sat at the heart of the new computer age,was going to be the next caualty.
All of this caud a crisis of confidenc.Americans stopped taking prosperity ofr granted .They began to believe that their way of doing business was failing, and that their incomes would therefore shourtly begin to fall as well .The mind -1980s brought one inquiry after another into the caus ofAmerica's in dustrial decline.Thir sometimes nsational findings were filled with warnings about the growing competitiong from overas.
How things have changed!I1995 the United States can look back on five years of solid growth while Japan has been struggling.Few Americans attribute this Self doubt has yielded to blind pride.American industry has changed its structure ,has gone on a diet ,has learnt to be more quik witted, according to Richard Cavanagh, executive dean of Harvards Kennedy School of Government.'It makes me proud to be an American just to e how our business are improving theirproductivity, says Stephen Moore of the Cato Institute ,a think tank in Washington,DC,And William Sahlman of the Harvard Business School believes that people will look back on this perido as a golden age of business management in the United States.
California is west of the United States and is divided into San Francisco and Los Angeles. As soon as we get there, we can e many advanced equipment and spacious roads, so that we can know that the United States is a vast country.
In the mountains of California, huge waterfalls can be en. Squirrels are running on trees. Apart from the mountains and green mountains, there are also Disneyland and universal studios in the city. Disneyland has a houhold name, Mickey Mou, and many children's favorite cartoon characters, with scary haunted hous, crazy roller coasters... And so on.
Now, though, the California have developed many forests, but also some forests have been prerved, let the squirrel can run in the trees, the fish can swim in the water, swimming birds in the sky fly, let the animals keep beautiful homes.
This trip to America let me know the importance of nature to us, so we should love this beautiful home.
Bad on historical documents, modern survey and statistics, as well as the result of predecessor studies, the trend and main process of forest dynamics are recognized. The forest area and forest coverage rates for each province of China from 1700 to 1949 are es- timated backward by every 50 years. Linking the result with modern National Forest Inventory data, the spatial-temporal dynamics of Chine forest in recent 300 years (AD 1700–1998) is quantitatively analyzed. The study shows that in recent 300 years, the forest area in current territory of China has declined by 0.95×108 hm2 (or 9.2% of the coverage rate) in total, with a trend of decrea and recovery. Before the 1960s, there was a trend of accelerated de- scending. The forest area was reduced by 1.66×108 hm2 (or 17% of the coverage rate) in 260 years. While after the 1960s, there has been a rapid increa. The forest area incread by 0.7×108 hm2 (or 8% of the coverage rate) in 40 years. The study also shows that there is a significant spatial difference in the dynamics of forest. The amplitudes of increasing and de- creasing in western China are both smaller than the ones in eastern China. During the rapid declining period from 1700 to 1949, the most rious decrea appeared in the Northeast, the Southwest and the Southeast, where the coverage rate in most provinces dropped over 20%. In Heilongjia小路弯弯ng Province, the coverage rate dropped by 50%. In Jilin Province, it dropped by 36%. In Sichuan Province and Chongqing Municipality, it dropped by 42%. In Yunnan Prov- ince, it dropped by 35%. During the recovery period 1949–1998, the western provinces, mu- nicipality and autonomous regions, including Ningxia, Gansu, Inner Mongolia, Si- chuan–Chongqing, Yunnan, Tibet, Xinjiang and Qinghai, etc, the increa rates are all below 5%, while the eastern provinces, municipality and autonomous regions (except Heilongjiang, Hubei, Jiangsu–Shanghai) have achieved an increa over 5%, among which the Guang- dong–Hainan, Guangxi, Anhui, Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei, Shandong, Henan, Zhejiang, and Fu- jian have an increa over 10%.
