Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, Today, I’m going to talk about Unit7 W ould you mind turning down the music? SectionA, period1, Page52 from JEFC (go for it), book4.
Firstly, I’d would like to analyze the teaching materials.
This unit mainly talk about complaints. In this unit, Ss will learn how to make requests and apologies. This kind of topic is very practical, which can make Ss more polite in their daily life. This lesson is the first lesson and also an important lesson in this unit. In this period, SectionA opens with a picture. The picture introduces the target language to Ss to practice the new language. All activities in this period introduce the key vocabulary and the target language. 1b and 1c provide listening and guide oral practice. Ss can improve their listening and speaking skills. According to the teaching material I make the following aims: 1.Knowledge and ability aims:手指月牙

Secondly, I’d like to analyze Ss and show you my teaching and learning method:
Ss of Grade Two in Junior School in our teaching practice have learned English almost two years, but their English is still poor. They are more passive and shy to speak English, and their attention cannot be kept long in class, so in this lesson I mainly
u task-bad teaching and learning method to make Ss have things to do in class. I first ask Ss to look at the picture and make a question for Ss to find out a new way of making polite request. Also,I have Ss learn some new words and phras in this lesson, such as not at all, turn down, yard, right away. Then come to the new ntence structure:
Would you mind ( not ) doing sth?
I’ll guide the Ss to u the new ntence structure to make more ntences. In order to help Ss finish the task effectively, I arrange listening practice, pair work, individual work and group competition for Ss to practice the new structure. After that, I’d like to ask some pairs to come to the front to act out their dialogues. To do so,Ss can learn the new ntence structure by heart more quickly and effectively.
Thirdly, I’ll discus s with you how I deal with the teaching steps and its aims.
Step1 SectionA Lead-in
At the beginning of the class, the Ss still cannot concentrate on their study. In order to attract their attention to the lesson immediately, I begin my class by asking Ss a question: Do you often complain others in your own life? The question is very familiar for most Ss and they can easily answer it. Then I ask
Ss to focus on a new way of making polite request about complaint. That is, using the stucture: W ould you mind ( not ) doing sth? Since the structure is easy to follow, the Ss can be very interested in this lesson.
Step2 1a
When coming to the part 1a, I ask Ss to look at the picture and ask a pair of Ss to read the dialogue in the picture and read the other three requests in the box after me. After that, I have Ss explain what each one means. They can u actions and simple explanations. For example, for cleaning the yard, a S can pretend to be raking leaves and putting the leaves in a trash can. After that, getting Ss to write the letter of each request in correct place in the picture to match the requests with the things. Ask Ss to do this work on their own. It can train the Ss’ ability of individual work.
Step3 1b
青钱柳叶When finishing the exerci 1a, the teacher needs to check the answers. And then look at the part 1b: Listen and number the requests in 1a in the order you hear them. While listening, Ss should pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation. Play the tape twice for Ss to do the exerci, which c an train the Ss’ listening ability.
Step4 1c
Ss have got to know the key structure. They need to do more practice to further understand the usage of this structure. So we’ll come to the part 1c, it arranges pair work to train Ss’n of cooperation. First, I ask a pair of Ss to read the sample dialogue in 1c. For example,

Then I ask the Ss to work with their partner,making conversation according to the picture in 1a, when making requests, Ss can u the examples in 1a if they want. As Ss are working,I’ll walk around the classroom,checking their progress, and offtering help as needed. In the end, asking some pairs to show their conversations to the class. And there is one point that must be pointed out: When answering the question: W ould you mind doing sth? We should pay special attention to the reply. “No”means “I don’t mind”. But “Yes” means“I mind”. If there is time left,ask more pairs in groups to compete and act out their conversation. This can train the Ss’ speaking ability.
