a photo shop 意思是“照相馆”。在英语中，名词作定语，一般用单数形式。
例如：
flower shop 鲜花店；shoe shop 鞋店
但是man 和woman修饰名词时，要随所修饰名词的单复数变化而变化。
例如：
He is a man doctor. 他是一个男医生。
They are men doctors. 他们是男医生。

（1）此句是一般疑问句，句中使用了something ( 而未用anything)，表示说话人希望有自己想要的东西，希望得到肯定答复。
例如：Can I borrow some (不用any ) money from him? 我可以向他借钱吗？
（2）I can u 在本句中是定语从句，修饰先行词something, 省略了关系代词that.
例如： She will tell you something (that) you want to know. 她会告诉你想知道的。
3．I’ll take two rolls of film, plea. 我要买两个胶卷。
（1）take 在本句中是“买”的意思，不是“拿走”。

thank sb. for sth. 意思是“因为某事感谢某人”；
thank sb. for doing sth. 意思是“因为某人做了某事而感谢某人”。
例如： Thank you for your help. 感谢你的帮助。
I must thank you for telling me the news. 我必须感谢你告诉我这个消息。
2. I like collecting facts about my family. 我喜欢收集与我的家庭有关的事实。
like sth. 意思是“喜欢某物”；like doing sth. 意思是“喜欢做某事（经常的行为）”，like to do sth. 意思是“喜欢做某事（具体的行为）”。一般情况下like to do 和 like doing可以互换。
例如：
I like apples, but I don’t like bananas. 我喜欢苹果，不喜欢香蕉。
I like playing basketball / to play basketball after school. 我喜欢放学后打篮球。

feel proud 的意思是“感到自豪/骄傲”。 feel 用作系动词，后面跟形容词。

Lesson 51: Different Hobbies
1. My hobby is gardening.
gardening是由动词garden变来的名词，意思是“园艺”。类似变化的还有shop—shopping, swim—swimming等。
2. I’m going to bring my stamp collection. Did you know that Li Ming collects stamps, too?
注意下列词组的意思：stamp collection 集邮；collect stamps收集邮票；a stamp collecting club 集邮俱乐部。collect 是动词, collection 是它的名词形式，collecting 是它的v-ing形式。
3. Mary Green will show you the best way to grow all kinds of plants.
kind 的常见短语有：a kind of 一种；all kinds of 各种各样；different kinds of
不同种类的；many kinds of 许多种类的。
4. First, you have fun working in your garden.
have fun doing sth. 意思是“享受做某事的乐趣”。
例如：
We’re going to have fun speaking English. 我们会感到说英语很有趣。
We’re sure to have fun at the party this evening. 在今晚的聚会上我们肯定会痛快。

Lesson 52： A Moment Just for Me
1. Sometimes I’m glad to be alone . 有时候我乐意独处。
A moment just for me. 一个就属于我的时刻。
alone 用作形容词，意思是“独自一人，单独”；
lonely 意思是“孤单，寂寞”。
例如：He’s always alone, but he never feels lonely. 他经常独自一人，但他从不感到寂寞。
2. I like my model train. 我喜欢我的火车模型。
model 意思是“模型”。 model ship/plane … 轮船/飞机模型
3. This man builds boats for hobby. He makes them out of wood. Do you like to work with wood?
