摘要：PURPOSE:To increa reducibility and contractibility of iron ore pellets when ud in a blast furnace, by addn. of Ba cod. to the compound raw material of the iron ore pellets to be ud in the blast furnace. CONSTITUTION:To a powdered mixt. of iron ore with lime stone is added 1-2% bentonite as a binder to produce iron ore pellets for u in a blast furnace. In that ca, 0.1-10.0% Ba cpd. (converted into BaO), e.g., BaO, BaCO3,
Ba(OH)2 is compounded to the above-described mixt. After adjustment of moisture content, the compound thus obtained is granulated by a pan pelletizer, then it is pre-heated, dried, and is calcined in oxidizing atmosphere. Compounding of the Ba cpd. caus to increa the reductibility of iron oxide, in addn., to decrea contractibility of the pellets in the blast furnace, and to reduce pressure loss in the furnace, removing slip and hanging.
