1. amazing adj.令人吃惊;amazed adj.吃惊的(强调人的感受)
He made amazing progress.

2. light n. / adj.
a. 可数名词, “灯” : Turn right at the traffic lights.
我心归去b. 不可数名词, “光线,光”: He reads by candle light.
c. adj. 淡色的,轻的,明亮的: 她穿着一件淡蓝色外衣. She wears a light coat. 那老人能干一些轻活. The old man can do some light work.
3. It takes (sb.) some time to do sth.
①乘火车从上海到北京需要十个小时左右. It takes about ten hours from Shanghai to Beijing by train.
②请对上句中的“ten hours”提问.

4.a man in the USA 用介词短语作定语，修饰名词，放于其后。
a boy with a football; a girl on a red bike
形容词短语作定语放于名词之后:
a bag full of books; a farm far away from the school
5. with + 宾语+ 宾补(adj.), 在句中作状语
他开着门走了. He left with the door open.
作定语:那个窗户开着的房间是我的. The room with the windows open is mine.
6. a. “keep +宾语+ 形容词/ 分词/ 介词短语”使…保持某种状态.
这是保持我们城市清洁的好办法. It’s a good way to keep our city clean.
对不起,让你久等了. I’m sorry to keep you waiting so long.
把盒子放在阴凉处. (shade) Plea keep the box in the shade.
b. keep + adj.
保持健康keep healthy/ fit;保持安静keep quiet
c. keep + doing sth. 持续,不间断地做某事
那位年老的女士整天站在那儿. The old lady kept standing there the whole day.
7. at the same time 同时
许多人可以同时在那里钓鱼. Lots of people can go fishing there at the same time.
8. without + n. / doing
I can’t finish the work without your help.
He went to school without (having) breakfast.
9. as usual 像往常一样= as always
像往常一样辛勤工作. He works hard as usual.
than usual 比经常他到得比往常晚. He got there later than usual.
10. turn around 转过身去
turn in 上交; turn over 翻过来; turn on/ off打开/关闭; turn up / down调大/ 调小
Turn in your homework, plea.

Turn over the cake.

11. anything unusual adj. 置于不定代词之后
重要的东西something unusual; 没什么严重的nothing rious
12. arch v.
a. arch for – look for :
他在许多地方找工作. He arched work at many places.
b. arch sb./ sp. The police arched very part of the building.
The police arched for him. The police arched him.
13. take card of – look after take good card of =look after…well Take care of your health. Who will take care of /look after the pet? 14. following adj. 其次的, 接着的= next
广式炒面The following month; 次月;下星期the following week
15. not…any more = no more不再
她不再哭了. She no more cried. She didn’t cry any more.
no more, not…any more 通常与表示具体动作的动词连用.
no longer, not…any longer 通常与状态动词连用.
你不再是小孩了. You are no longer a child.
我不准备在帮他了. I’m not going to help him any more

16. crazy adj. 狂热的,疯狂的, crazily adv.

17. be fond of + n. / doing sth. 非常喜欢

18. weigh (v.)

20. as…as 与……一样……
not as / so… as 与…不一样
as… as之间为adj. 或adv. 原级
他和Tom 跑得一样快. He runs as fast as Tom.
我开车没有他开得好. I don’t drive as well as he does.
as…as sb. can / as…as possible 尽可能…
尽量早点回来. Come back as early as possible / you can.
21. find it interesting 发现这很有趣
我发现这个故事激动人心. I find this story is exciting.
我觉得这个报告乏味. I found the repot (was) boring.
22. It is + adj. + (for sb.) to do sth. 对于某人来说做……是……
对我们来说,学好英语很重要. It is important for us to learn English well.
23. happen 发生, vi. ~ to sb.
昨天约翰出了事故. An accident happened to John yesterday.
24. invent (v.) 发明
Who invented the lamp, do you know?
invention (n.) 发明物: Which invention is the most uful?
inventor (n.) 发明家: I know Edison was a great inventor.
25. over多于= more than
There are over 1000 students in my school.
在…上面:There’s a bridge over the river.
