PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document carrying device capable of
restraining the deterioration in an image quality by a simple method.
SOLUTION: A document is read in a document reading position 212 on platen glass 210 in a carrying passage between a pre-reading roller 115 and an ejecting roller 125. An energizing member 140 is oppositely arranged to the platen glass 210, and is arranged on the guide member 150 side forming the carrying passage between the platen glass 210 and itlf. The energizing member 140 is formed of a sheet member, and the sheet
member is bent to the guide member side, and has a bending part 142 forming a projection part to the platen glass 210 side. A position of this bending part 142 is arranged in a position of a distance L1 on the downstream side in the document carrying direction from the document reading position 212. The document is presd to the platen glass 210 by the bending part 142 forming this projection part, and the document is carried in a clo contact state to the platen glass 210.
