Comparison between American Puritanism and
Chine Confucianism
Confucianism is a Chine ethical and philosophical system developed from the teachings of the Chine philosopher Confucius(“Master Kong”, 551–478 BC). It is a complex system of moral, social, political,philosophical, and quasi-religious thought that influenced the culture and history of East Asia It might be considered a state religion of some East Asian countries, becau of state promotion of Confucian philosophies. Cultures and countries strongly influenced by Confucianism include mainland China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan and Vietnam, as well as various territories ttled predominantly by Chine people, such as Singapore.

Puritan values (creeds) included: Hard work, thrift, piety, sobriety, simple tastes. Puritans are more practical, tougher, and to be ever ready for any misfortune and tragic failure.
They are optimistic. Puritans believed in the ultimate authority of the word of God in all matters of faith and practice. This meant the scripture--not a pope or a pastor--was only arbiter of truth. On it, and it alone, the Puritans bad their theology, doctrine, practices, and their statecraft. But they failed to recognize there is a difference between inspiration and printer's ink. Words are no more than symbols on a page, and have meaning only when we e their significance for us. The Bible is simply the record of men and women who have encountered God, and can never be the same again. But the Puritans came to idolize it.

different, both are rational. They lay great stress on purity of heart, exhort the people to develop a good character first, which is a priceless jewel and which is the best of all virtues. They help people to find themlves and live in a rational manner. At last, both American Puritanism and Chine Confucianism are part of world cultural heritage.
