摘要：The prent invention relates to a gene for an enzyme involving in the synthesis of GDP-L-fuco. Particularly, the prent invention relates to a GDP-4-keto-6-deoxy-D-
manno-3, 5-epimera-4-reducta gene derived from , and a process for producing GDP-L-fuco using the gene. An enzyme encoded by the gene is (a) a protein comprising an amino acid quence reprented by SEQ ID NO: 1; or (b) a protein comprising an amino acid quence derived from the amino acid quence of SEQ ID NO: 1 by deletion, substitution, addition or inrtion of one or veral amino acid residues, and having GDP-4-keto-6-deoxy-D-manno-3, 5-epimera-4-reducta activity. The prent invention enables efficient mass production of GDP-L-fuco which is esntial in performing addition of fuco, which has a very important function in sugar chains.四川省护理学会
