A farmer grew some vegetables in his garden. One day his wife was ill and he had no money。 He had to ll some cabbages and carrots in the market。 The next morning he took two baskets of vegetables to town. But it was raining hard that afternoon and there were few people in the street. When his vegetables were sold out， it was dark. He bought some medicine and hurried to his village.

The officer brought out a knife and asked， “Have you en it yet” “No, sir.” The officer became angry and told the policemen to beat him up and nt him into prison. the officer wanted to trap the farmer into the confession(供认）， but the farmer didn’t admit he was the murderer.

But the young man thought the farmer was innocent。 So he took the great courage to expo the real criminal. After the investigation, the young man was right. The police officer was nt into prison and the policeman who beat up the farmer was fired, and the brave young man was regarded as the hero by the villagers

I was responding to a call from a small brick flat in a quiet part of town. I assumed I was being nt to pick up some party-goers，or someone who had just had a fight with a lover，or a worker heading to an early shift at some factory for the industrial part of town。
When I arrived at 2:30 a。m.， the building was dark except for a single light in a ground floor window。 Under such circumstances， many drivers just honk（按喇叭） once or twice，wait a minute，then drive away. But I had en too many weak people who depended on taxis as their only means of transportation.
