I am Li Hua, chairman of the Student Union. I’m writing to invite your school to take part in our school’s upcoming Dragon Boat Race from May 25th to 30th on the Pearl River in Shamian, Guangzhou.
The event is a fantastic opportunity for our schools to develop clor ties and to promote cultural exchange. The annual Dragon Boat Festival is one of China’s most important cultural events, commemorating the ancient poet Qu Yuan, who drowned himlf after being fally accud of corruption. It will provide students the chance to learn from each other, improve their boating skills and promote friendship.
We know that Cambridge High School has an outstanding boating team and would love you to take part. We’d appreciate hearing from your reply before April 15th.

Besides having an excellent rowing team, I’m told your school has a great interest in Chine culture. So your participation will be of great value to your school’s students . It will allow them to experience one of China’s most important traditional festivals, commemorating an important figure from our history. They’ll also enjoy the many colourful activities and delicious foods that are part of the festival.
If you can come, plea reply before 15th April, so we can prepare. I look forward to your respon.
