I am thinking that if I would be a teacher after one year, what I want to know except for extensive knowledge, and how do I become a good teacher? After reading this book The Little Girl At The Window by Japane writer Tetsuko Kuroyanagi , I felt I entered a pure world of the child and touched the children's inner world. Besides, I had some new ideas for child education. .I think this is a good book, which has won the hearts of millions of people of all ages and made this book a runaway bestller in Japan, with sales hitting the 4.5 million mark in its first year.

What deeply chock me was the school’s founder and headmaster , Sosaku Kobayashi, who run The ideal school in Tokyo during World War II that combined learning with fun, freedom, and love. Also, he was a firm believer in freedom of expression and activity. The special ways he ud to educate his students are worth learning for all of teachers.
Above all, Sosaku Kobayashi respected the children, at his first time met Totto-chan, he continuously listened the little girl talking for four hours with strong interest. However, associating the student I tutor—a fourth-grade boy, no matter what you ask him, his answer always “I don’t know”. At first I was confud, but now I think, perhaps, few peopl
e would like to listen carefully what he say, especially his parents. For long time, he may have formed the habit of refu to express himlf. So, I should learn from Sosaku Kobayashi to encourage the boy to express his ideas, and riously consider his ideas, and give him appropriate respon. Someone says: if a child lives with encouragement, he learns to be confident. If children live with accepted, he learns to love. I should let my student live with encouragement and accepted. Sosaku Kobayashi often says to his student: “you are really a good child.” Which is a simple word, but it will give children great encouragement.
Next, Sosaku Kobayashi paid great attention to build the lf-confidence of the child, especially for tho handicapped children. For example, he elaborately designed events for the dwarfism boy, just hoped the boy can remember the confidence the moment get the champion. As we all know, child’s heart is very fragile like the grass, so it need to be attentive care. To the contrary, as parents or teacher, if you don’t realize about this point, and say some nsitive words, which may give the child permanent hurt of soul. From this book, what the most important thing I learned was that happiness is the point of child education, especially the elementary education. Although I can not become a teacher like Sosaku Kobayashi, but I believe that, I will try my best to understand and help the “Totto-chan” around me, water them with spring rain of love, and illuminate their souls with sparks of love.
