智慧新概念趣1-1NCEPT ENGLISH 3. Myna
Years ago, my grandparents raid chickens in their backyard, and every morning Grandma would take eggs from the coop to make breakfast for the family. One day, a tiny grey bird mysteriously appeared in the coop. After some investigation, we figured out that it was a Myna, a type of bird native to South and Southeast Asia.
My Myna was so small, with bright yellow eyes and a black beak, always hopping around and chirping happily. Grandfather quickly grew to love Myna, and it was soon a part of the family. Every morning, Myna would follow Grandpa around, perching on his shoulder, and occasionally squawking when she wanted attention.
Grandma named her "Percy" becau of her adventurous nature. Indeed, Percy had a knack for exploring, often flying off to explore new places and coming home with new stories. She even ventured into the neighbor's garden and brought back some of their apples to share with us.
Whenever Grandpa returned home, Percy was there to greet him with an enthusiastic chirp. She always had so much energy, taking off on long flights and coming back with stories of her adventures. She even managed to make friends with some of the chickens, entertaining them with stories and singing a few songs.
Although I no longer have Percy around, I still remember her fondly. She was a one-of-a-kind bird, full of character and unique personality. Every day, I take a few moments to think back and appreciate all the wonderful memories that she brought us.
