more than 的用法总结
more than 可以看作一个固定词组,后面可跟名词(或动名词)、动词、形容词和从句等。由于后面所接形式不同,more than 的用法和译法也不相同。现分述如下:
1. more than + 名词(动名词),意思是"不仅仅是","不只是"。如:

4. more than +动词, 意思是"非常","……多"。如:
This more than satisfied me. 这使我十分满意。

5. more than +从句,意思是"超出某人力量、知识等的范围"。如:

而han 这种结构是对于不同的人或物的同一性质或方面的比较。常见的用法有:
1) 比……更(形容词和副词的比较级)。如:
She is more beautiful than her sister. 她比她妹妹更漂亮。
It is more expensive to go by plane than by boat. 坐飞机去比坐船去的费用更高一些。
He works more and better than he ud to. 他比过去工作得更多更好。
2)与其说……不如说……。如:

no more than + 基数词,意思是"不过、仅仅、只有",相当于only, 表示"只这么多",有"少"的含义。如:
There were no more than two hospitals in this city before liberation. 解放前,这城里只有两家医院。(表示很少)
The park is no more than one kilometre from our school. We can walk there. 公园离我们学校只有一公里,我们可以走路去。(表示距离短)
not more than + 基数词,意思是"至多,不超过(也许还不到)",相当于at most, 只是一般地指出数量或程度,没有"多"或"少"的感情色彩。如:
Not more than twelve students have en the film. 至多十二个同学看过这电影。(也许还不到)
I haven't more than 50 yuan in my pocket. 我的口袋里顶多有50 元。
I read not more than twenty pages every day. 我每天最多读二十页书。
而han 的意思是"同……一样不",两件事物比较时,否定两方面。如:
He is no more a farmer than a worker.= He is neither a farmer nor a worker. 他既不是农民,也不是工人。
She is no more able to read Spanish than I am. = Neither she nor I am able to read Spanish. 她和我一样都不能读西班牙文。
He runs no faster than you. 他跟你一样跑不快。
han 的意思是"比不上……,不及……",在两件事物比较时,二者都有某种特性,但程度不同,其中一件比不上另一件,但两者都是肯定的。如:
I'm not more busy than you. =I'm less busy than you. 我没有你那么忙。
This tool is not more uful than that one. 这件工具不及那件有用。
