英语中的简单句和复合句
一．Clau ，分句，句子的单位，至少包含一个主语和一个谓语。The sun ro.
2种，independent clau and dependent clau
independent clau，express a complete thought, contain a subject and a verb, stand by itlf. dependent clau, contain a subordinator, a subject and a verb.
独立的分句，表达完整的概念，至少包含一套主谓，可独立成句
从句，不表达完整概念，包含连接词和一套主谓，不可独立成句
The sun ro.
I am happy becau I am praid by the teacher.

二．简单句Simple Sentence

一套主谓, one subject and one predicate
He had plenty of money.
Mary and Tom had plenty of money.
She earns and spends lots of money.
三．复合句Compound Sentence
两个或两个以上的简单句组成，中间可以逗号和连词连接，分号连接，连接副词连接。two or more independent claus
She has many friends, so she can get help easily.
She has many friends; therefore, she can get help easily.
She has many friends; she can get help easily.
四．复合句的类型
1.表示并列的and, not only…, but also…
He had plenty of money and he spent it freely.
Not only did he speak more correctly, but also he spoke more easily.
2.表示选择的
Either you are right, or I am.
3.表示转折的
Jane said she was ill, yet I saw her in the street just now.
4.表示对比的
He likes pop music, while I am fond of folk music.
5.表示因果的
It must have rained last night, for it is wet all over.
The shops were clod, so I didn’t get any milk.
