Passage 1
Joe and Tony were both twenty years old. They studied in a medical college. In June, after a school year was over, they decided to travel in the country. They went to veral towns and villages, and visited some places of interest, saw and heard a lot of interesting things. They enjoyed themlves there.
One afternoon they felt too hot to go any farther. How they wished they could find a river and swim in the cool water! They were driving the car slowly while they were looking around. Suddenly Joe saw a lake not far away. They stopped the car beside the lake, looked around, and found a man who was sitting on a stone fishing there. They took off their clothes and were going to jump into the water. Just at that time, the man came up to them and shouted, "Sorry, swimming is not allowed in the lake!"
"Why didn't you tell us about it before we took off our clothes?" Tony said angrily.
"But it isn't forbidden to take off clothes by the lake," said the man.
Passage 2
I was riding my motorbike along a country road near Chilton on the evening of February 15. I though it was about 9:30. It was dark and I couldn’t e things clearly. So I was driving very carefully, but the road was bad and suddenly my bike hit a stone, and before I could stop my bike, I was already lying on the ground. My whole body hurt, especially my left arm. I knew I was bleeding, and I couldn’t get up. Luckily I was found by a policeman. He made a telephone call and I was taken to the hospital. There I was examined. I had a broken arm and lots of cuts. My arm was put in a cast（石膏绷带） and my cuts were cleaned and bandaged（包扎）.
