other adj. 另外的,其他的,别的
●—Have you got any other questions? 你还有其他问题吗?
帮你辨析: other, another, the other, others与the others
①other意思是“其他的；别的；另外的”，可以做形容词用，在句子中作定语。在一般情况下，常常修饰复数名词，other+复数名词=others.
●I don’t know if other students will be interested in this story. 我不知道是否其他学生对这个故事感兴趣。
②another 意思是“另一个”。一般是指不确定数目中的“另一个”。既可以用作形容词，在句子中作定语，又可作名词，代替单数名词。
●The boy has caten up his apple. Plea give him another(one).
这个男孩把他的苹果吃完了，请再给他一个。
●I can e another ship in the picture. 在图画中我能看见另外一艘船。
③theother意思是“另一个”。指两个人或物中余下的那个，常与one搭配构成“One…The other句型。
●I have two brothers. One is a doctor.The other is a college student.我有两个哥哥，一个是医生，一个是大学生。
④others意思是“其他的人或物”，指除去某些人或物后余下的另外一些人或物。作代词用，泛指“另外的人或物”。常与some搭配构成“Some…Others…”句型。
●Some students like painting.Others like music. 一些学生喜欢画画,另一些喜欢音乐.
●Don’t lend it to others. 别把他借给别人.
⑤the others意思是表示特指某X围内的“其他的人或物”。指除去某些人或物后余下的这些穿白衣服的人中，一些是医生，另一些是护士。
●A few tho in white are doctors; the others are nurs. 这些穿白衣服的人中，一些是医生，另一些是护士。

4.That you ever did e. 那是你确实看见过的。
did e 意为“确实看见”，相当于saw。英语中，do，does 和did置于谓语动词前，用来强调谓语，其后须接动词原形，意为“确实；的确”。

●—She does know a lot of French. 她确实懂很多法语。
5.And the stem on the plant,And the plant in the hole. 植物上的茎，洞穴上的植物。
on 与in两者都表示“在……上”的意思，on表示两个物体接触，但不表示深度，如墙上的黑板、地图、等。而in表示“在……上”，必须具有某种深度，如墙上的门窗、洞等。

⑶as=since作“既然”解，引导原因状语从句，常用来表示已为人们所知或显而易见的原因或理由。
●—As you’re not feeling well,you may stay at home. 既然你不舒服，你可以呆在家里。
