MV “royal” cryogenic valve disc includes a resilient, laminated metal al ring, compod of alternating layers of corrosion-resistant alloy and composite graphite.
Each individual lamination provides an independent al,unaffected by damage to the others. While improving long-term aling properties, the resilience of the laminated design also allows lower operating torques. (For high pressure class a hardened, non-laminated al ring, is available.)
Asmbled on the disc, the al ring is engineered with tolerance to allow radial compression and flexing when
torque is applied to clo the valve. Conquently, the valve als tightly even when pressurized from the rever direction.

Cryogenic by design
The unique Orton triple eccentric design eliminates friction between the disc al ring and the at in the body,thereby preventing wear and any conquent leakage. The result is a valve with a longer rvice life, in which all aling elements (al ring on the disc, at ring on the body) are fully replaceable with the valve in line.
