12th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China
The 12th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China was held in Beijing from 1 to 11 September 1982. The theme of the meeting is to comprehensively create a new situation in the socialist modernization drive.
The new party constitution adopted by the Congress inherits and develops the advantages of the ven and eight party constitutions, and systematically summarizes the experience of party building in history, it completely summarizes the nature of the party, the part’s goals, the basic requirements for party members and party organizations, and the party’s leading role. The General Asmbly considered and adopted the resolution on the report of the Eleventh Central Committee, the resolution on the report on the work of the Central Commission for
Discipline Inspection and the Constitution of the Communist Party of China. The new party constitution clears up “Left” errors such as the affirmation of the “Theory of continuing revolution under the dictatorship of the proletariat” in the party constitution of the 11th National Congress, absorbs the merits of the party constitutions of the 7th and 8th National Congress, and, according to the characteristics of the ruling party in the new era, many new requirements have been put forward.
After due deliberation and democratic elections, the General Asmbly elected twelve central committees comprising 210 Central Committee members and 138 Alternate Central Committee members, a 172-member Central Advisory Committee and a 132-member Central Commission for Discipline Inspection were also elected.

中共十二大于1982年9月1日至11日在北京召开。会议的主题是全面开创社会主义现代化建设的新局面。
大会通过的新党章，继承和发展了七大、八大党章的优点，系统总结了历史上党的建设的经验，比较完整地概括了党的性质、党的目标、对党员和党组织的基本要求，以及党的领导作用。大会确定了在20世纪末实现工农业年总产值翻两番的目标。
大会审议通过了《关于十一届中央委员会报告的决议》、《关于中央纪律检查委员会工作报告的决议》和《中国共产党章程》。新党章清除了十一大党章中仍肯定“无产阶级专政下继续革命的理论”等“左”的错误，吸收了七大和八大党章的优点，并根据新时期执政党的特点，提出了许多新的要求。
大会经过充分酝酿和民主选举，选出了由210名中央委员和138名候补中央委员所组成的第十二届中央委员会，同时选出了由172人组成的中央顾问委员会和132人组成的中央纪律检查委员会。
