Is experience necessary?
Many Chine grads and undergrads view a job in the Civil Service as the golden ticket as far as a well-paid stable career goes.
However, a recent announcement by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Seceurity may make students revi修正their career plans.
A wenior official at the Ministry said that the central and provincial省的governments would only recruit public rvants from tho “with more than two years of grassroots working experience” except for some special positions, Xinhua News Agency reported.
This means that fresh graduates would be barred禁止from the hundreds of thousands of stable, well-paid public rvice jobs available at central and provincial government level every year.
Naturally, the announcement gave ri to much controversy辩论as critics poi水蛭
nted out that, actually, few government jobs require experience. They also stated that the new policy constitutes构成rious discrimination歧视against a well-educated group of young people who are desperate for opportunities.
So what is your opinion? Should the government clo some job opportunities for college graduates on the grounds of lack of experience?
Yes.
To rve the people well, public rvants need to be experienced and capa香芋地瓜丸图片
ble.
1. Today’s public rvants shoulder great responsibilities and heavy pressure. They often face very difficult situations that require great skill and rich experience. Tho with more than two years of grassroots work experience can obviously better fulfill their responsibilities.
2. Requiring government job applicants to have more than two years of experience doesn
’t mean shutting the door to them forever. New graduates just need to fill tho two years working in the private ctor or public ctor at local level. Then they will be eligible符合条件的.
3. The competition for civil rvice jobs is fierce. Millions of people apply every year but only a small number are lected. This policy could improve the situation. Graduates could spent their precious time d贝斯几根弦
oing other things, such as preparing for grad-school entrance exams or looking for jobs in other ctors.
No.
The rule establishes unnecessary hurdles障碍for college graduates.
1. Most public rvice jobs allow o100字读书笔记
n-the-job training, and new hires can learn from more experienced colleagues. Experience elwhere may not even apply in the jobs. Therrfore, it is not necessary to require two years 让我感动
of previous work experience from applicants.
2. The public ctor is an important source of employment opportunities for young college graduates. If this door is shut for college graduates, it may distort扭曲the job market and lead to rious conquences that may take years to alleviate减轻.
3. Demanding that potential public rvants have at least two years of “grassroots experience” could give ri to opportunities for corruption. What is considered “grassroot ex牛奶炖桃胶
