There are many theories about the beginning ofdrama in
ancient Greece. The on most widelyaccepted today is bad on
the assumption thatdrama evolved from ritual. The argument for
thisview goes as follows. In the beginning, human beingsviewed
the natural forces of the world-even theasonal changes-as
unpredictable, and theysought through various means to control
theunknown and feared powers. Tho measureswhich
appeared to bring the desired results werethen retained and
repeated until they hardened into fixed rituals.
Eventually stories aro which explained or veiled the
mysteries of the rites. As time pasdsome rituals were
abandoned, but the stories, later called myths, persisted and
providedmaterial for art and drama. Tho who believe that
drama evolved out of ritual also argue thattho rites contained
the ed of theater becau music, dance, masks, and costumes
werealmost always ud, Furthermore, a suitable site had to be
provided for performances andwhen the entire community did
not participate, a clear division was usually made between
the"acting area" and the "auditorium." In addition, there were
performers, and, sinceconsiderable importance was attached to
avoiding mistakes in the enactment of rites, religious leaders
usually assumed that task. Wearing masks and costumes, they
oftenimpersonated other people, animals, or supernatural beings,
and mimed the desired effect-success in hunt or battle, the
coming rain, the revival of the Sun-as an actor might.
Eventuallysuch dramatic reprentations were parated from
religious activities.
Another theory traces the theater's origin from the human
interest in storytelling. Accordingto this vies tales (about the hunt,
war, or other feats) are gradually elaborated, at first throughthe
u of impersonation, action, and dialogue by a narrator and
then through theassumption of each of the roles by a different
person. A cloly related theory traces theaterto tho dances
that are primarily rhythmical and gymnastic or that are imitations
of animalmovements and sounds.

a composition on the topic of Academic Plagiarism following the
outline given below in Chine. You should write at least 150

1.学术抄袭现象日趋严重;
2.分析学术抄袭现象产生的原因;
3.探讨学术抄袭现象带来的问题。
范文:
Academic Plagiarism
Nowadays, the problem of academic plagiarism becomes
more and more rious. In order to earn academic titles, some
teachers plagiarize others' academic papers; in order to graduate
smoothly, some college students plagiarize others' graduation
papers. Everything has its reasons; academic plagiarism is no
exception.
First, college authorities put too much emphasis on papers
while conferring academic titles and graduating students.
Second, modern technology makes it unprecedentedly easy to
get information and materials. Some plagiarists who are morally
corrupt can't resist the temptation and decide to take risks. Third,
the system of censorship and penalty are far from being strict,
encouraging plagiarism to some extent.
Plagiarism caus many bad results. On the one hand,
plagiarism infringes original writers' right and it is unfair for
teachers and students who don't plagiarize. On the other hand,
plagiarism may spread negative thoughts which in the end will
ruin colleges' fame. Therefore, I suggest college authorities
should not regard papers as the only criterion for evaluating
teachers and students. Besides, much stricter system of
censorship and penalty should be applied.

In my life I have met a great many people who are really
worth recalling. But perhaps the most unforgettable person I ever
know is my English teacher.
What frequently brings back memories of my school teacher
is his special qualities. First and foremost, he gave us the greatest
gift a teacher can offer—an awakening of a passion for learning.
He not only led us to an appreciation of the beauty and
perfection of English language and literature, but also aroud
our great interest in exploring something deeper in this field.
Furthermore, I was attracted by his lively wit. I remember that we
students always anticipated his class with great eagerness
becau his lecture were humorously delivered, never failing to
provoke chuckles or loud laughs.
Although it is nearly two years since I attended his last class,
he is the talk of our old classmates, and I know part of him has
already stayed in my heart.
