My family

I love my family, becau I have a happy family. My father is an

English teacher. His name is Jacky. He is thirty-eight. He likes playing

basketball. What’s my mother job? Is she a teacher? Yes, you’re right!

My mother is very kind and nice, she is thirty-ven. My mother is

always laborious work. I love my parents! On Saturday and Sunday, I

often go to the library and play the piano, My father go to play

basketball. Sometimes, we watch TV and listen to music at home. I

together!

Sunday

It was Sunday and I didn't have to go to school. I finished my

homework the day before. So I decided to help mother do

vegetables in the market. After I came back, I started to cook dinner

for the whole family. In the evening, I sat at the table and began to

write down on my notebook what I had done during the day.

its popularity. I usually watch television and read the newspaper

reports about the football results of the little leagues. During the

summer I like to go to the beach often becau it is very clo to my

home. I usually go there during the summer vacation to relax after

many months in school in the city. I feel very comfortable with the

familiar quiet life of the villagers.

For me the autumn or fall starts in September when school starts

and yellow, and then brown colors. The park also has many bright fall

flowers; sometimes I e a small squirrel coming down from the tree

to hunt for food on the ground. On the weekends, I sometimes like to

fly my kite. Usually on the street corners you can e street peddlers

lling warm baked sweet potatoes. This is a nice time of the year.

Winter is very cold and windy in most parts of China. I usually

look forward to the Spring Festival and the winter holiday when I can

go to the south where the climate is warmer during the holidays.

Also, I look forward to eing my grandparents and my friends.

Winter is the time everyone is in a festive mood. In the city, I usually

do a lot of reading at home in the winter becau of eh cold weather

outside.

Bob was having trouble getting to sleep at night. He went to e

his doctor, who prescribed some extra-strong sleeping pills. Sunday

night Bob took the pills, slept well and was awake before he heard

the alarm. He took his time getting to the office, strolled in and said

to his boss: "I didn't have a bit of trouble getting up this morning."

"That's fine," roared the boss, "but where were you Monday and

Tuesday?"

Some years ago, my dad, an attorney, took me to a fancy

restaurant in Now York City. When the bill arrived, there was a $1.50

charge for bread and butter. Dad paid the bill, including the charge

for bread and butter. However, the next day, he nt a letter to the

resturant stating that the charge was uncalled for. Enclod in the

same envelope was a bill for $500 in legal rvices. Someone from

the restaurant called immediately and asked, "What is this $500 bill

for? We never ordered any legal rvices." Dad replied, "I never

ordered any bread and butter." The $1.50 was returned without

delay

"I can always tell a graduate class from an undergraduate class,"

obrved the instructor in one of my graduate engineering cours at

California State University in Los Angeles. "When I say, 'Good

afternoon,' the undergraduates respond, 'Good afternoon." But the

graduate students just write it down.

One very hot day, a hungry fox went into a vineyard looking for

grapes were heavy and ripe ,hanging inbeautiful purple

clusters on the vine . "Oh!"he said ,"I must taste tho grapes."So he

made a jump, but he could not reach them."I must try again,"he

said ,and this time he jumpedhiher than the first time. but the grapes

were still out of his reach.

At last ,quite tired out ,he said :"who wants grapes like

tho , can e they are assour as green lemons ."he

tried to comfort himlf by saying so
