It was the third day of our winter holiday. Today, there are

many business in my mother’s pany. So my mother told me to

help my uncle who is the manager of my mother’s pany. I sat in

my mother’s office and help her answer the telephone.

While I was free, I was writing my homework. Although I also

have a lot of time to do my homework, I still do it. Becau in my

mother’s office, I had nothing to do. If I did nothing, I was wasting

my time and my life. I can’t do the foolish thing. We should take

good u of our time.

I have rested for a week. I began tto feel bored. So I went out

with my friends. They are my best friends in the middle school.

We didn’t go to someplace special. We just saw the other. We

had lunch together. While we were having lunch, we were still

talking about the new school and new friends.

Yes! A year later, we have grown riper. And we learned much

more things and got new life. We haven’t enough time to play, to

waste and to lo the way. We only have two years. Two years to

go, we will get the real life which belongs to us.

Take the cultural difference between the East and the West as the

example, China is a country that endures high power distance

while America endures lower power distance. Therefore, status

symbol is very important for Chine and a superior having the

privilege is a matter of cour. But people in America think that

they are all equal.

Besides, the westerns are individualistic while the easterners

are more collectivistic. In individualistic societies, people focus on

their own values and needs, relying on individual efforts to rve

their interests. In the collectivistic nations, people bine themlves

into one or veral munities, finding their own place in the group

and they mentally rely on the munity, so harmony ems

important in tho nations. There are three main differences

between the East and the West, namely uncertainty avoidance

index, masculine versus femininity and long vs. short term

orientation.
