There are many threats to global food supplies. Explain the problem, identify possible solutions, and asss the implications of implementing the solutions.
The food curity is a potential crisis to the world in terms of food supplies and food safety while the global population is projected to reach 9 billion by 2050 (Black叙述文, 2010). This essay, first of all, will just focus on the threats to global food supplies from two main aspects: the threats caud by the objective factors in a broad n, and the challenges attributed to the subjective factors which cloly related to the human behavior. After the analysis of the problems, a number of feasible solutions will be suggested with the implications which will be further discusd accordingly.

On the other hand, human factors contain more complicated reasons which are different from nations and industries. Generally, veral main reasons can be concluded: mismanagement on ecosystems caus the dramatic decline in some species which eventually leads to the reduction of food supply(Slaght, 2012). Along with the regional industrialization, the exportations of fruit and vegetables to developed countries displace local staple crops, which indirectly impacts the undeveloped areas suffering further from the malnourishment (Slaght, 2012)演讲者英语. Solutions to the problems are numerous which cannot be elaborated in this essay, but two directions are very clear for us in facing the threats, which can be generally applied. For example, in China, One-Child policy is an effective measure which can be drawn on by other countries like India and Indonesia, facing the same population booming challenge. Similarly, food waste needs to be reduced before we tend to increa the food production. Better transport infrastructure, better-functioning market, post-harvest storage technologies, legislation etc. (Godfray, et al, 2010) all could be applied to saving the prent available food production. The other direction is improving and facilitating. Obviously, improving the food production through new technology will back up the long-term development of food supply. It is a long list showing the technological breakthroughs on agriculture science in recent years. Among tho, genetic techniques are substantially accelerating the yields of agriculture especially for the staple foods for poor communities
(IAASTD, as cited in Godfray, et al, 2010). Meanwhile, globalization offers the under developed countries or areas more opportunities to the global market and new technology to boost the yields. All the solutions are so encouraging for giving the world a prosperous future. However, it is crucial to keep a critical awareness that everything has two sides.
