Media workers show up at press conferences (新闻发布会), hospitals, communities and any other places that need them.
Some of them take the risk of being infected while working. Zhu Xingxin, for example, is a photographer for China Daily. He took photos to show the lives of medical workers in Wuhan. He had to put on protective suits like the doctors. “It’s rather stuffy (闷热的) wearing the suits. I felt anoxic (缺氧的) under the masks,” he wrote on China Daily. So he spoke softly and walked slowly to feel better.
Some independent (独立的) media workers also join in and prent news in a down-to-earth (接地气的) way. A popular vlogger surnamed Lin, for example, started a vlog ries (
系列) called Wuhan Journal 2020. He drove around the city and recorded the lives of ordinary people. In one of his videos, a mother of three works as a volunteer. A man brings his wife back home in a wheelchair (轮椅). The ries has 5 million fans on Sina Weibo and is also on YouTube.

As more cas of COVID-19 have been found globally, many countries have carried out their own plans to stop the pandemic (大流行). The measures differ bad upon their cultural backgrounds and other factors.
China has made great progress in the prevention and control of the epidemic. The World Health Organization (WHO) praid (赞扬) its efforts and described its experience as “a lesson for other countries”. Erin is a lab technician (技术员) at a mid-sized hospital in Michigan. She doesn’t em too worried about the influence that COVID-19 will have on her small community (社区).
“We’re making good u of limited resources (有限资源) at my hospital, and as long as people follow the suggestions of Centers for Dia Control and Prevention for slowing the spread, I think we’ll be OK,” she said.
