摘要：PURPOSE:A substance for deactivating mutagens, capable of deactivating mutagens with a small amount of it, a naturally occurring substance harmless to the human body, consisting of a food fibrous material comprising a slightly digestible substance obtained by removing starch, protein, etc. from corn fiber, as a main component. CONSTITUTION:Corn fiber is treated with amyla, protea, etc., with an alkali, acid, etc. chemically, or ground physically by a homogenizer, etc. or treated in a combined way of the methods. Starch and protein contained in the corn fiber are removed by the treatments, to give a substance for deactivating mutagens consisting of a food fibrous material comprising a nondigestible substance such as cellulo, hemicellulo, etc. as a main component. The substance for deactivating mutagens has preferably <=16mm particle size. The substance shows extremely strongly deactivating action on various mutants such as such as baked scorching components of nitroallene with a very small amount of it.
