except, besides, except for，but用法的关联和区别：
1． 好奇心的作用作介词用法时，这四个词都有“除……之外”的含义；
2． Except “从整体中除去一部分”：①加宾语，常与do, does, have, has, had nothing, all, everything, everyone, nothing, nobody等连用，②与介词连用，这时相当于except + that-clau (从句)
1） All the students have pasd the exam except Tim.
2） He did nothing except watch TV yesterday.
3） The weather is fine today except in the northwest.
= The weather is fine today except it is in the northwest.
3． Besides 作“除……之外”时，表示“另外附加”的含义。相当于“in addition to”。
