Passage1
At school, being popular sometimes ems like the most important thing in the world. We often think that being the center of attention would be fantastic—like being a famous movie star or athlete.
有你在真好
That's what Jes Aarons thinks in Bridge to Terabithia until he meets Leslie Burke.Yet the speaker in Emily Dickinson's poem,"I'm nobody!Who are you?"readily admits to being an outsider. What's more, she even ems to like it.She says it would be"dreary"to be"somebody."
Jess and Leslie find each other and overcome obstacles to build a unique friendship. The speaker in Dickinson's poem has found a similar friend.Read the poem"The Bridge Builder"by Will Allen Dromgoole about friendship.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is she crazy?Who would want to be an outsider?
Think about it for a moment.Who would really want to be an insider?
As an outsider,a"nobody,"the speaker is not forced to be"public."She does not have to face the scrutiny or disapproval of people who are likely to be jealous of her popularity. She does not have to play games, put on an act,or keep trying in order to be a somebody. She can be herlf and be
comfortable.
What's more,she is not alone.
Are you nobody?:Everyone feels like a"nobody"at some point in life.
What Does It Mean?
The poem's first stanza tells how the speaker meets a fellow"nobody"—a friend.Together, the two nobodies can enjoy each other's company and their shared anonymity.
Anne Shirley, the heroine of L.M.Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables book ries, knows what it is like to be an outsider and to have a special friend. Her best friend and kindred spirit is Diana Barry.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As a pair, they aren't really nobodies anymore. That's why the speaker says,"Don't tell!/They'd banish us,you know."She understands that once you have another"nobody"at your side, you aren't really a"nobody"anymore. And she doesn't want to be banished or kicked out from what she es as a society of nobodies.
She's comfortable there.
In the cond stanza, the tone of the poem changes. The speaker sounds confident.Perhaps it is her
discovery that there are other people like her—other"nobodies"--that makes her feels strongly that being a"somebody"isn't such a great idea.
She realizes that having a friend who understands you and accepts you as you are is more important than being admired by a lot of people or being in the"in"crowd.
Bogged Down
In the poem's cond stanza, the speaker also makes a strange comparison. She says that being a somebody is like being a frog. What does this simile mean?Aside from Kermit, there aren't many celebrity frogs around.
A lot of people--kids and adults--feel lonely sometimes.Emily Dickinson's poem"I'm nobody! Who are you?"express how being a loner can sometimes be a positive thing.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Why does the speaker choo that amphibian as her reprentative of a public creature?
It's becau frogs make a lot of noi.The poem says that frogs, though they can croak and make the
mlves heard and be noticed, are noticed only by"an admiring bog."The bog is the frog's environment, not the frog's friend. So who cares what the bog thinks?
That's what the poem says about being a"somebody"who gets noticed by an admiring public. Frequently, the relationship is impersonal and distanced, not like a real friendship.Somebodies may have many admirers, but they might not be able to make tho personal connections that real friendship offers.
This special connection between two people who consider themlves outsiders is mirrored in Jes and Leslie's friendship in Bridge to Terebithia.Jess and Leslie are"nobodies"who realize that being just like everyone el would be boring and would diminish their individuality. In the words of Dickinson's poem,it might be said that Jess and Leslie learn that it would actually be quite"dreary to be a somebody!"
Being"nobodies"helps them find each other.绣眼鸟

Analysis on Poem I’m Nobody Who Are You
The poem shows the author’s attitude for living in a world where people trust fame and ek for popularities—live a quiet, peaceful“nobody”life regardless noi of outside world.
The poem tells us writer's point of view about being"nobody"or"popular".Being popular ems to be fantastic and becoming the center of focus is many people’s dream. However, the speaker doesn’t think so.He/she is“nobody”,but not alone! The first stanza tells speaker’s acquaintance with a fellow“n
obody”friend.Together, they can enjoy each other’s company and shared anonymity. As a pair, they aren’t“nobody”any more. That’s why speaker says “don’t tell”,becau he/she holds the idea that people in this world not only ek fame and popularity, but they also feel jealous of“somebody”and banish them. The speaker doesn’t want to be kicked out form a society he es as“nobody’s”.
武威美食In the cond stanza, becau the speaker has find some to accompany with and share life with,
the tone became more confident and shows disdain for people who keep on eking fames and popularities. The author u metaphor and strong comparison, tho trying to be“somebodies”are like noisy frogs telling about their names and eking for fames all day long. The admirers are compared to bog, which is also the environment the frogs live. The frogs, though they can croak and make themlves heard and noticed, are noticed only by"an admiring bog".Bogs are the environment they live, not the friends of them.So they don’t care about what the frogs say. That's what the poem says about being a"somebody"who gets noticed by an admiring public. Somebodies may be admired by many people, but they might not be able to make tho personal connections.Frequently, the relationship is impersonal and distanced, not like a real friendship.
推动我
I think the author hold this point view of life is significantly becau of her life experience. The poem i
s written by Emily Dickinson, who was one of American literature’s most reclusive figures. Apart from one trip to Philadelphia, one trip to Washington D.C.,and a few trips into Boston, Dickinson spent almost her entire56years in her hometown of Amherst,Massachutts. After she turned40,she never left the boundaries of her family's property in Amherst. From that time she was devoted into writing poems and building her mental world. One thing we should notice is that,we shouldn’t classify her as an isolated person who spirit is covered with the snow of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, becau her poem we can e the forest who leaves are ever green, the garden with unfading flowers and so many bright and fragrant images. In the deep of her heart is the poet’s sincere and permanent love for her family, friends and nature. Emily’s experience reminds me of many Chine poets who life experience and works are dramatically similar to hers. There is a reclusion culture in china over thousands years.Poets, retired officials and someone who talent are not recognized by the government may choo to find an isolated place and live country life.Only in that place can they get rid of the noisy outside world,so that they can have inner peace and abundant spirit world. They also left many previous poems for us,which were classified as Chines pastoral poems. The Images of tho poems are quite charming. They not only has Narathiwat"picking chrysanthemums Dongli, leisurely Nanshan e"conception, but also have"open door to the Western Hills,e carefreely Dongshan"elegance.Quiet mountains, aromatic flowers and
peaceful country life, all the images contribute to the extraordinary Chine pastoral poems.Tho hermits avoid the hustle and bustle cular, and get high quality of the peace of mind.In their poems, they think about beauty of nature, meaning of life and the world around us.Reading their poems is an enjoyment and education.
I believe there are some common things of both western and eastern culture. Two different poems, even in different eras of their countries, have dramatically same life experience and profound meanings in their works.
“To be or not to be,it is a question”,and finding out life’s meaning is a permanent problem in human’s history, but this time different writers from both west and east give similar answer—living a peaceful life and having abundant spiritual world regardless the noisy outside world.
