工程付款
（Payment for the Works）
有关工程付款的规定是工程合同的一项核心内容，虽然国际工程 采用的合同的模式并不统一，对支付时间的规定也不尽相同，但其付 款方法是类似的，一般分为月进度款 （或期中付款）和最终结算款。
工程量的计量
工程的进度款是以当月完成的工程量为基础进行计算的，有时为 了核定承包商应得到的期中付款的额度,业主的工程师通知承包商 协助其对完成的工作进行计量 。

第一段说明，根据合同，为了决定期中付款的额度，工程师通知承包商，要求对工程的某些部分进行测量。
第二段说明，工程师要求承包商协助其进行测量，并提供有关仪器和人员。

1、determining the interim payment: 决定期中付款（的额度）
其中，interim: adj. 中间的，临时的，间歇的；n. 中间时期，过渡时期，暂定
2、forthwith: adv. 随即，立刻，不犹豫地。

进度付款申请与支付
进度付款申请一般随月进度报表提交，有的合同规定，进度报表可被视为该月的进度付款申请。在承包商提交了付款申请之后，在规定的时间内，业主的工程师（在有些合同模式下业主的代表）对付款申请予以审批，签发支付证书。通常，业主在支付之后通知承包商，请其查收。由于工程付款比较复杂，付款过程中可能会出现一些问题，导致双方对问题的不同看法。
