The hotel, located in a remote village in Sweden who name I can’t pronounce, is appro
ximately 125 miles north of the Arctic Circle and is made entirely out of ice.
No. 1 ice hotel ever
The Ice hotel was the first ice hotel in existence. It was started in the 1980s by a Swedish artist who wanted to create a large sculpture celebrating the natural resources around it.The hotel is rebuilt every year, opening in the winter and closing in spring.
Unique hotel feature
Ice sculptors from around the world are invited to participate in the creation of the hotel. Each suite (套间) is designed and created by a different artist and each has a parate and distinct style.
The room’s temperatures range from minus 5 to minus 8 degrees Celsius. I hate the cold, so this hotel would not be for me, but the pictures are beautiful. The beds are made entirely of ice.
To keep the guests from dying of freezing coldness, the beds are covered in deer hides with thermal (保暖) sleeping bags on top. For safety reasons, guests are only allowed to spend one night in the suite of the hotel.
Notification for accommodation
If you do want to stay longer there are regular suites located above ground so that guests can stay multiple nights. Besides the bedrooms made of ice, there is an ice church if you want to get married there and the main entrance hall showcas a different sculpture each year and there is a world-famous ice bar where even the glass are made of ice.
