A few years ago, a friend nt me a restaurant gift card, and I picked a sunny Sunday afternoon to u it. It was my first time to take my two little daughters to such a nice resta
urant. How lucky our dream finally came true.
We had a good time that day, for the delicious meal and great rvice. The gift card covered most of the checks(账单)and I would pay for the rest(剩余)by mylf. There were only two bills(钞票)in my wallet. The first would be just enough for the rest. The cond could even give the waiter a nice tip(小费). I decided to give the first bill to the waiter by the table.
At that moment, my memory went back to 10 years ago. I was working as a waiter in a restaurant much like this one. It was long hours of hard work for low pay. I remembered I went home just making a little money to feed my young family. I remembered how more than once I saw the waiters counting their small tips while worrying about their rent(房租)and the things that they need to buy for kids. I also remembered the pain in their eyes and the sadness on their faces at the end of the day.
