The hole in the road
There was once a farmer. He lived near a road. It was not a busy road, but from time to time, cars pasd the farm.
Near the farm gate, there was a large hole in the road. This road was always full of water, and the drivers of the cars could not e how deep the hole was. They thought it was not deep.

Jim was traveling around the country in his car. One evening he was driving along a road and looking for an inn when he saw an old man. “I want to get to the Moonlight Hotel. Do you know it?”
“Yes,” the old man answerer, “I’ll show you the way.”
He got into Jim’s car and they drove for about twelve miles. When they came to a small hou, the old man said, “Stop here.”
Jim stopped and looked at the hou. “But this isn’t the inn.” He said to the old man.
“Yes,” the old man answered, “this is my hou. And now I’ll show you the way to the Moonlight Hotel. Turn around and go back nine miles. Then you’ll find the Moonlight Hotel on the left.”

One day a few years ago a very funny thing happened to a neighbour of mine. He is a teacher at one of London’s big medical schools, He had finished his teaching for the summer term and was at the airport on his way to Russia to give a lecture.
He had put a few clothes and his lecture notes in his shoulder bag, but he had put Rupert, the skeleton (人体骨骼) to be ud in his lecture, in a large brown suitca (箱子).
