You know in some parts of the world, it is not that easy for people to receive education. And even in the United States where education is available, it might not be within reach. Students can deal with this material in different ways, depending on their background, their skills or their interests. So, for example, some students might benefit from a little bit of preparatory
material that other students might already have. Other students might be interested in a particular topic that they want to pursue individually. So this format allows students to break away from the one-size-fits-all model of education, and allows students to follow a much more personalized curriculum.    Second, and perhaps one of the biggest components of our online education is that we need to have students who practice with the material in order to really understand it. Theres been a range of studies that demonstrate the importance of this. A study in Science last year, for example, demonstrates that even simple retrieval practice, where students are just suppod to repeat what they already learned gives considerably improved results on various achievement tests.    So we need to build in much more meaningful practice questions. Now, fortunately, technology has helped us to provide the students with feedback on tho questions. We can now grade a range of interesting types of homework online.    The third component is what is called collaborative learning. Students could collaborate in different online cours in a variety of ways. First of all, there was a question and answer forum, where students could po questions, and other students could answer the que
stions. And what is really amazing is that, becau there were so many students, it means that even if a student pod a question at 3 oclock in the morning, somewhere around the world, there would be somebody who was awake and working on the same problem, and he might answer that question. And so, in many of the online cours, the median respon time for a question on the question and answer forum was 22 minutes.    So in a word, if we wanted to offer top quality education to everyone around the world for free, what would that affect us? Three things. First, it would establish education as a fundamental human right, where anyone around the world with the ability and the motivation could get the skills they need. Second, it would enable lifelong learning. Its a shame that for so many of us, learning stops when we finish high school or when we finish college. By making this amazing content available, we would be able to learn something new every time we wanted, whether its just to expand our minds or its to change our lives. evision should, of cour, focus on the essay as a whole. Youd ask yourlf— Do I reach my writing objective? Does my essay directly answer the question? Is my main idea clear? In order to answer the questions, what you need to do first is to revi for content. The typical rough draft may have too little and too much content, all at the same time. It will have touched the surface of some portions of the essay, without providing adequate explanation or convincing detail. At the same time, it may have discusd things that do not contribute significantly to your major points.  So, what is a good essay then? A good essay eliminates irrelevant material while including all the information necessary to your main point. Your reader needs sufficient evidence to accept what you are saying, so you have to make sure you have adequately developed and supported your main idea. Content that is unrelated to the main idea should be eliminated.  Then, what is the cond step in revision? That is revi for organization. A well-organized essay will group similar ideas together and put them in the proper order. If you find it easy to produce an outline from your draft, this means that there is a clear logic to the flow of the content, and you can be reasonably certain that you have a well-ordered essay. wi, reorder your content.  The third step you are advid to take is to revi for length. Is your essay approximately the right length? If it is substantially longer than the stated limit, you have to consider reducing the supporting material. But even if there is no stated limit, or you are allowed to write as long as you like, plea adhere to a lf-impod limit and, unless addressing a topic that needs lengthy explanation, stick to it.  The steps I have mentioned so far actually refer to revision of an essay as a whole. Well, I suggest you avoid this by breaking up some of the longer ntences to provide variety. U short ntences to make important points, and long ntences to explain complex ideas. s that sound awkward when read aloud.  For diction, a very important tip is to eliminate impreci or wordy language. For example, u “although” instead of “despite the fact that”. Try to add vigor to your writing by removing clichés and u fresh and interesting descriptions. Try to write as much as possible with nouns and verbs, rather than primarily with adjectives that slow the pace and reduce impact.
