Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Yao Ming – people across the world know the Chine faces. This year, Jeremy Lin has added himlf to the line-up. The 23-year-old is the first Asian-American NBA player since the 1940s – his parents are from Taiwan. In early 2012, Lin was still sitting on the bench after two teams didn’t hire him one after another. He lived with his brother in a small flat, worrying that the New York Knicks would cut him, too.
But suddenly, the once-nameless young man became a basketball hero. As of February
16, this year he has led his team to ven straight victories (胜利), including a win over the Los Angeles Lakers in which he scored 38 points, and Kobe Bryant scored 34. In the game against the Toronto Raptors, he made a 3-pointer in the final half-cond.
He’s scored 166 points in ven games, including 109 in his first four starts — that’s more than any player ever.
Kobe Bryant was surprid after playing with Lin, though he knew very little about the Knicks’ newest star before that.
