教研课题"萌" (méng) literally means "cute" and "哒" (da) is a modal particle. The phra "萌萌哒" originated on a Chine website called "douban", and was ud to refer to someone who is cute in a weird way. However, it has gained in popularity becau of a ries of gifts relead by the Palace Muum, where the ancient emperor Yongzheng looks very cute. In daily conversation, the phra is now ud to describe someone who is incredibly cute.

On March 31, 2014, Chine actress Ma Yili responded to her husband Wen Zhang's cheating on Sina Weibo.
