I 课程性质与设置目的
本课程是高等教育自学考试英语教育(独立本科段)考试计划中的核心课程之一。设置本课程的目的可以归纳为如下几方面:
1.引导学生注意吸收语言材料、扩大文化知识,特别是有关英美的文化知识。
2.通过对文章的思想内容、篇章结构、语言技巧的分析,提高学生对文章的理解、分析及评述的能力。
