Hi Jo,
Do you remember that hike we talked about last month? Let’s do it at the beginning of October when we have our holiday.
I am thinking we could go somewhere in north-west China. How about Yinchuan? There we can hike up the Helan Mountain nearby and enjoy the cool mountain air, the autumn breeze and the sounds of birdsong. Also, I know how much you want to go on a camel ride. If we go to Yinchuan, we can definitely arrange one. Just imagine sitting on the camel’s back and watching the sun sinking westwards and the landscape assuming a delightful orange hue. Of cour, we should first think about our budget: how much can you afford to spend on this trip? It's probably cheapest to take the train there. Also, we need to buy some hiking equipment beforehand, for instance, hiking boots and backpacks. Maybe we can borrow some equipment from our classmate KateI know sh
e hikes regularly. Since neither of us has hiked before, I guess we should practi hiking somewhere clor to home first. Actually, Kate was talking about going to the countryside for a weekend trip in a couple of weeks. I'll ask her if we can join her. That way, we can at least learn some basics.
We should start rearching exactly where to go. We have a whole week off, so it’s important that we make the most of it. Maybe we could buy a guidebook to the area so we know which guest hous to book. Let me know what you think of this plan. I'm free on Sunday afternoon if you want to discuss it.
Yours,
Evan
