The multi-perforated part 3 is moved onto the heat generating elements 5 while a recording material 7 is supplied, and after supplying the recording material 7, a printing operation can be immediately carried out, so that a high- speed printing operation can be performed. Since the movement of the film 1 is stopped when the elements 5 are not supplied with printing data, it is unnecessary to provide a long multi-perforated part 3, and the film 1 can be inexpensively produced.
