1. civil: a.
(1) 礼貌的 [OPP] uncivil

2. echo: v. 回音,附和,模仿
(1) [vi.] if a sound echoes, you hear it again becau it was made near something such as a wall or hill
e.g. The sound of an engine echoes back from the thick forest.

Her footsteps echoed in the empty room.
Collocations: echo + through/round
e.g. He could hear eerie nois echoing through the corridors.

(2) [vi.] if a place echoes, it is filled with sounds that are repeated or are similar to each other

e.g. The street echoed with the cries of children.

e.g. The article simply echoed the NRA’s arguments against gun control.

(1) [vi. & vt.] to travel in a ship or boat visiting different places, esp. as a holiday/vacation

e.g. The panda’s natural habitat is the bamboo forest.

(1) [U] the act of living in a place
e.g. They looked around for any signs of habitation.
The hous were unfit for human habitation (= not clean or safe enough for people to live in).

habitant: n. a less common word for ‘inhabitant’
