Topic: First aid for burns
Type: Reading
Teaching Aims:
1) 国庆节放假安排Learn some knowledge of first aid and how to treat burns.
2) Learn some new words.
3) Practi reading skills in skimming and scanning.
Teaching Methods:
1) Group competition.Students finish all the learning activities in groups. The groups will compete with each other while finishing the task given by Teacher. (Each group will gain one score whenever their members give a correct answer. At the end of the class, the group gaining the most scores will win and will be prented with an award.)
2) Learn how to give first aid by finishing first aid quiz.
3) Learn new words by matching meanings and completing the ntences.

Procedures:
I. Greeting and explaining rules
Teacher: Gook morning, everyone! Today, we are going to have a competition to e which group know the most knowledge of first aid. From this moment, whenever your group member gives a correct answer, your group will get one score. I will write the score
s on the Blackboard. At the end of the class, let’s e which group can gain the most scores and I will give them a surpri. Do you want to get the surpri?

2. Summary:
(1)Teacher prai the group who score is leading.
(2) Teach the definition of First aid
Teacher: Now you know what happened to the people. But do you know how to deal with all the accidents? What we should do right away?
Students: We should give them first aid.

III. Pre-reading : First aid quiz:
(1) Give the quiz: Teacher: Do you know how to give first aid on others? In order to e whether you know how to deal with the accidents, I will give you a quiz about first aid. You finish the quiz with your group members. And let’s e which group can finish the quiz in five minutes and gain scores.
(2) Teacher hands out the test papers and Students finish them in groups.
