1． Pre-Colonial America： Christopher Columbus was the first European to t foot on what would one day become U.S. territory when he came to Puerto Rico in 1492. He thought he had reached India, so he named the local people Indians, not knowing that he had discovered a New Continent. Franklin Roovelt

Franklin Delano Roovelt (January 30, 1882 – April 12, 1945), often referred to by his initials FDR, was the thirty-cond President of the United States. Elected to four terms in

office, he rved from 1933 to 1945 and is the only U.S. president to have rved more than two terms. He was a central figure of the 20th century during a time of worldwide economic crisis and world war, and has been ranked as one of the three greatest US presidents in scholarly surveys.
