Soil and Water Conrvation in China: Current Status and Future Prospects
Introduction:
Soil and water are two crucial natural resources, which are interdependent and interrelated in many ways. Soil is the foundation of terrestrial ecosystems, and provides a physical support system for plants to grow, while water is esntial for plant growth and sustenance. Soil and water, therefore, are the two most important resources for agricultural production as well as for the maintenance of other ecosystems. The conrvation of soil and water resources is, therefore, critical for the sustainable development of a country's economy and the protection of the natural environment.
