Last year,when I have the public elective cur,ur teacher intrduces a film t us which is his favrite ne--GuaSha.At that time,I was just angry at freigner’s ignrance and deeply mved fr Datng’s lve fr his sn.At this time,I watch this film again frm different pint f view--the intercultural cmmunicatin.
Cultural differences are the mst imprtant pint in the intercultural cmmunicatin.At the beginning f this film,Datng with his family is attending his wn victry banquet,his sn Dennis hits his friend Paul,Paul’s parents think that’s k,it’s just a fight between tw kids.Hwever,Datng and his wife Jenny have different reactins twards that situatin.Jenny is a wman wh is deeply affected by western thughts,she desn’t blame his sn.At first,Datng asks his sn t aplgize t his friend Paul,but Dennis refus t d that.S Datng is very angry becau he thinks that he makes his friend ls his face.Hence,Datng strikes Dennis in his face.Everyne including his wife are shcked.The western parents regard it as family vilence,

in China,but immigrates t western cuntry later.S Datng is familiar with Chine culture,meanwhile he is affected by western culture.He usually treats his sn by traditinal Chine ways,but smetime he treats his sn like a freigner parent.Fr example,he can share crets with his sn and respect his pinins.S,that is why I say Datng is a cntradictin.
